Consent for the processing of personal data in Whois

.GW is committed to ensuring that its costumers have greater control over their personal data. In order to enable you to freely and clearly consent to the disclosure of your personal data in the WHOIS directory, you will need to be aware of and understand that under the registration of a name under the .GW ccTLD:

  1. The National Regulatory Authority, Information Technology and Communication of Guinea Bissau act as controller of the personal data to which they have access in the scope of the management, registration and maintenance of domains under the ccTLD.GW;
  2. The processing of personal data in the .GW Top Domain complies with the legislation on the protection of personal data, as well as other applicable legislation;
  3. The purpose of the processing of your personal data is to be disclosed in the WHOIS directory, allowing a correct association of the same to the domain name;
  4. Your personal data may not be processed for any purpose other than that indicated in the previous paragraph;
  5. If you do not give consent, your personal data will not be published;
  6. The personal data that will be divulged are limited to: name, address, telephone number, fax and email;
  7. That in the scope of the rights that the law confers on it includes:
  • Access your personal data by contacting .GW directly through the email address info@nic.gw;
  • Rectify your personal data that is inaccurate or incomplete, through my Registrar, or directly with .GW through the email address info@nic.gw;
  • Withdraw the Consent, at any moment, to the disclosure of your personal data in the WHOIS service, directly with the .GW through the email address info@nic.gw;
  • Complain to the Portuguese supervisory authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (cnpd.pt), if it considers that any of the rights listed are being violated.
  1. Your personal data, even if not made public, may be disclosed or transferred, as necessary, to court authorities, and to any entity to which the law assigns powers in respect of criminal investigation or whose mission is to oversee or ensure compliance with the legislation applicable, in particular, to the protection of consumer rights, intellectual property, communications, security, public health and trade practices in general.
  2. Your personal data will be processed using automated means, not being, however, subject to any individual automated decision-making process, including profiling, save as permitted under the applicable law;
  3. Your personal data shall only be made available in the WHOIS service as long as the domain name is valid or while the consent is not withdrawn.
